Turning Passion Into Profession
From producing stop-motion wrestling videos as a kid to working professional sporting events across the Southeast, Xavier “Doc” Green has transformed a lifelong passion into a career. A recent Trident Technical College graduate and recipient of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Scholarship, Green is building on the skills, experience and confidence he gained at TTC as he prepares to continue his education at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Expanding Care, Building Careers
A visit to Trident Technical College’s Dental Services Clinic does more than improve a patient’s smile — it helps train future dental professionals and strengthen oral health across South Carolina. With an expanded clinic, advanced technology and support from community partners, TTC is increasing access to affordable care while building a workforce pipeline that meets a critical regional need.
Support Beyond Tuition
At TTC, the biggest obstacles students face aren’t always found in the classroom. More often, they’re the unexpected costs that appear just when they are closest to reaching their goals. Last year, the TTC Foundation awarded $512,000 in scholarships to 545 students. But at Trident Technical College, scholarships do more than make tuition possible. They remove real-world barriers that can determine whether a student reaches graduation or steps away.
Welcoming New TTC Foundation Trustees
The Trident Technical College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members: Philip Cavatoni of JW Aluminum and Lee Cox of Bank of America. Both leaders bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to supporting higher education and workforce development in the Lowcountry.
Finding Her Calling
Although Sharon Holden once dreamed of soaring the skies as a flight attendant, it was her very first biology class at Trident Tech that revealed her true calling: Nursing. She embraced that passion and built a meaningful career—giving back not only as an educator but also as a scholarship donor, helping future students find their own paths to purpose.
Employees Impact Scholarships
In support of the college's Wildly Important Goal (WIG) of improving student retention, the Development department set out to increase the number of scholarships awarded by 10%. Achieving that goal meant growing the scholarship fund - and they turned to TTC employees to make it happen.

When Andrea Ross walked across the stage at Trident Technical College’s 2025 commencement ceremony, she wasn’t just receiving a diploma—she was honoring a legacy, overcoming adversity and planting seeds for a brighter future.

Before Dr. Cephus E. Simmons, Sr. became a nationally recognized inventor and educator, his journey began right here at Trident Technical College.
