PURPOSE:  To provide guidance for awarding degrees, diplomas and certificates at Trident Technical College.

Students meeting graduation requirements for a Trident Technical College credential must complete a Graduation Application in Self-Service or in the Registrar's Office.  A separate Graduation Application is required for each program of study (degree, diploma, or certificate) the student intends to complete.  The College Catalog outlines all credentials awarded by Trident Technical College.

  1. DEGREE
    Students completing graduation requirements for an associate degree program will be awarded a diploma indicating the name of the degree-granting program.  The student’s official transcript will reflect the degree name and date of completion.
  2. DIPLOMA
    Students completing graduation requirements for a diploma program will be awarded a diploma indicating the name of the diploma program.  The student's official transcript will reflect the diploma name and date of completion.
  3. CERTIFICATE
    Students completing graduation requirements for a certificate program will be awarded a diploma indicating the name of the certificate program.  The student's official transcript will reflect the certificate name and date of completion.
  4. AWARDING OF MULTIPLE MAJORS WITHIN THE SAME DEGREE
    Students who complete multiple majors within a single degree-granting area, regardless of the academic year, will receive one diploma.  Students completing programs in different degree-granting areas will receive a diploma for each.
  5. AWARDING OF MULTIPLE DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
    Students who meet requirements in multiple diploma or certificate programs will receive a diploma or certificate for each diploma or certificate program completed.
