NUMBER: 5-1-2 APPROVED DATE: 09-10-2009

BASED ON POLICY NUMBER AND TITLE: 2-13-0 Asset Protection

Purpose:  To ensure appropriate use of the college branding on all official communications to advance the image of the college in a professional and consistent manner.

The College’s Brand

Consistent and continual brand management maintains a positive image of the college.

The most important elements of the college’s brand identity consist of three elements:

  • Logo
  • Colors
  • Fonts

The college’s brand identity reflects what we want to communicate about the college.  Consistent and continual brand management helps maintain a positive image and the public’s perception of the college.

The College’s Logo

The college’s logo serves many purposes, the most important being the primary way in which the audience knows the communication comes from Trident Tech.  As the primary graphic symbol for the college, the logo serves as an identifying icon to the public.  Appropriate use of the logo on all official communications advances the image of the college in a professional and consistent manner.

Horizontal Logo

When using the logo, the proportions, font, spacing and position between the graphic and the wordmark must be maintained as shown.  The swoosh graphic must always be accompanied by the wordmark.  It cannot be used by itself.  The college's logos shall not be used for any commercial/noncommercial, quasi-official, promotional, or similar purpose by any organization, group, or individual without the express written approval from the college in advance.

  • Appropriately formatted logo files are available from the Marketing Services department.
  • The college's horizontal logo is the preferred logo format.  However, some cases warrant use of a vertical logo.  Uses of the college's vertical logo are determined by the Marketing Services department.

Stacked Logo

Location/Placement

  • The college logo will be printed in a prominent location on all official TTC publications and printed materials (front on most) and in advertising.
  • Promotional or informational materials that are distributed off campus must be handled by Marketing Services staff who will determine proper use of logo and artwork.
  • Using other logos from companies or organizations is sometimes necessary to acknowledge co-sponsors, partners, etc.  Whenever possible, the TTC logo will be placed in a prominent position on the cover or front of the publication or item and other logo(s) near the TTC logo but smaller.
  • If the TTC logo is provided to another organization to use, the Marketing Services department must approve the design, application and/or placement prior to production.

Use

  • The official college logo (graphic and wordmark) may not be altered, distorted or reproduced in any form other than the official design.
  • The logo will appear on all publications, printed materials, media presentations and other uses including but not limited to: stationery, business cards, letterhead, brochures, posters, advertising, handbooks, invitations, specialty items, name tags, uniform badges, newsletters and official pages of the college website.
  • When printed on uncoated paper, the Trident Red color should be set up in PMS 1955u.

Requests for Other Logos

If there are mitigating circumstances, requestors may apply for an exemption to the logo rules.  All requests for logos other than the official TTC logo must be submitted to the college's Marketing Services department.  The Marketing Services department will review requests and approve if appropriate.

The College’s Brand Colors

Next to the logo, the colors used are the most important aspect of the college’s brand identity. Trident’s primary color palette consists of three colors.

The College’s Fonts

Brand consistency extends to the typefaces used in college communications.  The use of a set of font families provides for consistency while providing choices in style and tone.  The official brand fonts of the college, along with their Google Fonts alternatives, are as follows:
