Never Attended

You previously applied to Trident Technical College and submitted required documentation but never took classes.

Apply by completing an application online for the current or future semester.

1. Placement testing for math and English coursework 

  • Valid, qualifying SAT/ACT test scores*
  • Next-Gen ACCUPLACER Placement Test* (FREE in the TTC Testing Center)
  • Weighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher (final, official transcript required)
  • High school diploma or GED plus D2L Math Placement Test
  • Prior college credits in math and/or English

    A Student Success Coach or academic advisor can help you choose the best option.

    *Notes:

Math - You will need to provide one of the following scores or higher: SAT Math 521, ACT Math 24, Next-Gen ACCUPLACER Arithmetic 277, weighted high school GPA 4.0, D2L Math Placement Test 90, prior college credits in math. If your scores are lower than these, you will be required to take a corequisite math course.

English - You will need to provide one of the following scores or higher to show English proficiency: ACT English 19, SAT Evidence-based Reading & Writing 520, Next-Gen ACCUPLACER, prior college credits in English.

All scores have a 5-year expiration date from the time of testing.

2. Proof of high school graduation or a GED (required to receive financial aid) 

  • Copy of high school diploma or GED

Or 

  • Official high school transcript showing graduation date (preferred)
    • You may ask your high school to send a copy to admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu, have it mailed directly from your school, or hand deliver to TTC Admissions in a sealed envelope with the high school’s credentials/logo on the outside.
    • Request a copy online from Parchment (there is a fee); electronic copy sent to TTC.

3. Verification of legal presence in the United States 

  • Required for all new applicants, per South Carolina law
  • For most students, the documentation required is a clear photocopy of a driver’s license, beginner’s permit, or state-issued identification card.

Confirm that your account has been updated by logging into your student portal. Your login information should have been previously received by email and U.S. Postal Service. If you have trouble, please click here.

Confirm the residency status applied to you by reviewing your email. If you have trouble with locating this information, you may contact the Admissions office at 843-574-6558 or by email at admissions@tridenttech.edu. Confirm that your financial aid record is up to date (if applicable). You may contact the Financial Aid office to complete this step.

Your mandatory orientation session will guide you through everything you need to know to be successful at TTC.

After you have submitted your application to the college and completed the rest of the admission process, Trident Tech will invite you to attend mandatory orientation. The email will contain a link to sign up for this engaging and important session. You can choose to attend in person or online. 

Your success coach or academic advisor can answer questions about orientation and help you register for classes. If you do not know the name of your success coach, please contact the Student Success Center for more information.

Your tuition is determined by your residency status. Be sure you have completed Step 4. See important dates for payment.

Books can be purchased online or in-person at the bookstore.

 

Readmit Students

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Prior to starting a FAFSA, you will first create your FSA ID at www.studentaid.gov. Once you have your FSA ID, you will complete your FAFSA and have the results sent to Trident Technical College by entering our college code: 004920.

TTC’s Educational Opportunity Center can be contacted for assistance with completing the application. The Financial Aid Office can be contacted for additional assistance with the financial aid process.
